Don't confuse these three English verbs when you talk about your hobbies and interests.
You can use them in these ways:
go + activity
Examples: go swimming, go fishing
play + sport / game
Examples: play football, play chess
do + hobby / activity which is not a team sport
Examples: do DIY, do gardening, do karate
